Little girl, who was ill with arrhythmia, was operated in the Center named by
Bakulev this
thursday. The cardiosurgeons desided to use the method, that wasn't used
anywhere yet in the World for babies medical treatment. This opertaion
finished sucsessfully.
Carudiosurgens used very thin catheter, that was brought in the heart
through the vein. Electrode was being brought in zone, that caused a hindrance
in
heart work and was heated up to 50C. This is enough to destroy harmful
hearth. This operation was very difficult, becouse of very small size of babies
heart.
"We can train a lot of specialists in this field, and it will not take a
lot of time. Tomorrow we will finish the course of electrophysiology. A lot of
russian
specialists from different regions will be sertificated after it," - Leo
Bockeria, director of the Center, said.
Little girl will first sea her home soon, and two babies are ready for
operation too.
