The Optical Transients Center

Description:

Dear Colleguas,
We introduce a new site about optical transients research (http://otc.pereplet.ru). It works like Gamma Center Network (http://gcn.gsfc.nasa.gov/), and was created in addition to GCN, not to substitute for it. The matter concerns optical transients, found at the time of ground observation and not concerned with GCN-alerts. The discovery and research of such phenomena is in the future, and Optical Transient Center has to help to researchers in this work.

Please, don't send an information about asteroids, satellits, Nova and Supernova. There are a lot of sites for these objects.

OTC-cirsulars can include http-references to the images (http://www.xxx.yy) and to the literature. See also example.

Observatories and mounts, that will be able to send a telegramms (there will be an alert-system by socket in a future) should be registered at the OTC-site. To do it, one can send a letter to the address: reg[dog]otc[dot]pereplet[dot]ru Please, name the observatory, mount-parameters, coordinates and http-reference.

Moreover, one can subscribe to distributiuon of OTC by e-mail. The subscription address is otc[dos]otc[dot]pereplet[dot]ru OTC-agents will automatically get telegramms.

All author's rights are in telegramm's authors.

Vladimir Lipunov (lipunov[dog]sai[dot]msu[dot]ru) Tehnical superviser is Dmitriy Kuvshinov (dmitriyk[dog]genphys[dot]phys[dot]msu[dot]ru)

Optical Transient Center is a system, that collects and coordinates optical transients from observers, which can send coordinates of optical transients objects observable by them.

If You have found new object(s) you can inform other observers about your discovery, having send the e-mail message.
