New National State Park in Russia National State Park No.100 in Russia, ERZI, has been inaugurated
in Dzheyrakh region, Republic Ingushetia. Its area is almost 6 thousand
hectares. The National Park is situated in Dzheyrakh and Assanean Hollow
where more than 180 rare species of plants are sprouting which need
to be preserved with special care. This location is inhabited by bears,
wolves, foxes, wild boars, and, moreover, by such rare species as roe,
chamoises, dagestan goats, badgers, forest cats, lynxes. One could meet
there as well rare species of birds such as a Caucasian tetraogallus,
a golden eagle, a peregrin.
The National Park contains the unique natural objects: the hooked-pine
forest tract, the Shoane glacier, the sea-buckthorn grove, the canyon
of the Assa-river. Localized within the area preserved is the well-known
State Dzheyrakh and Assanean Protected Museum of History and Architecture.
Like every other state national park in Russia, ERZI is an object of
Federal importance and belongs to the system of reserves in charge of
the Ministry of Nature.
